Your Great-Grandchildren Will Be Impacted By How You Worship

From today’s reading…

‘You shall not make yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the waters under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God and I punish a parent’s fault in the children, the grandchildren, and the great-grandchildren among those who hate me; but I act with faithful love towards thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.’” Exodus 20:4-6

This applies to Fauci and golden statues of Trump and even Tom Brady, although Brady might be able to walk on water…but I digress.

This also applies to transgender and homosexual political appointees, life coaches driving Italian sports cars, cosmetically-altered Instagram models, and even mega-church pastors with $300 haircuts.

We mock our ancestors for being superstitious simpletons for worshipping a golden bovine while thinking it’s wise and even patriotic to worship political hacks peddling their beliefs wrapped in a thin veil of science all because you think their white medical robes bestow superhero knowledge upon them and you like the other political hack who gave them a job and a podium.

Meanwhile, you ignore your silly face-painting, jersey-wearing, sleep-losing machinations each weekend your favorite team is playing, and you think it’s perfectly rational to camp outside a store for three days to be the first to purchase an over-priced electronic gizmo you’ll trade in 12 months from now because its replacement gives you more perceived stature in the eyes of strangers.

Karl Marx called religion “the opium of the people,” and you think he’s a cool dude because you ignore the fact that secularism/socialism/communism is the methamphetamine of the soulless masses. (And don’t even get me started on “bread and circuses.”)

It’s in our DNA to worship, so choose what and whom you worship carefully because it’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
