Your Faith Is Reassuring

From today’s reading…

We have been reassured about you, brothers and sisters,

in our every distress and affliction, through your faith.”

There has been some distress and affliction here in Texas the last seven days, but our faith is alive and even reassured because of it.

We are stronger together and we are more similar than dissimilar.

You see it when you are shuttling people to their homes to recover medicine and clothing.

You see it when there are so many volunteers with trucks, boats, grills, food, gas cans, sunscreen, and water that most are turned away because emergency crews have enough help.

You see it when humans arrive from five states away to pull up carpet, cut sheetrock, and offer hugs to people they have never met and they do it at their own expense.

We have gotten far off course.

Give thanks for the way emergencies bring us back together to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
