You Released a Murderer

From today’s reading…

You denied the Holy and Righteous One

and asked that a murderer be released to you.

The author of life you put to death,

but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses.”

Peter is on fire. (I guess that’s what happens when you receive “tongues as of fire” at Pentecost.)

He and John have just healed the beggar so a crowd has gathered at Solomon’s Portico and Peter tells them how the cows eat the cabbage. I mean, he tells them what’s what.

But like the good, holy, inspired leader that he is, he does not just berate them, he gives them hope by interpreting the prophecies they’ve been told for generations so they understand what is happening and how to participate in the Lord’s plan.

For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you

by turning each of you from your evil ways.”

Peter calls us to repent because that’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
