From today’s reading…

Is that the sort of fast that pleases me, a day when a person inflicts pain on himself? Hanging your head like a reed, spreading out sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call fasting, a day acceptable to Yahweh?” Isaiah 58:5

Humble-bragging about all you do and don’t do is not what you are called to do during these 40 days of Lent, or ever, for that matter.

We are called to share our food with the hungry, shelter the homeless, assist the poor, clothe the naked, support your family and your community. (v7)

In other words, stop your whining and complaining and get to work serving as best you can, which is the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
