We Are No Longer Strangers

From today’s reading…

Through him the whole structure is held together

and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;

in him you also are being built together

into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”

Paul reminds us today via Ephesians 2 that to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, to answer God’s calling, we are to be visible and united as a community, not hermits keeping our faith to ourselves. Not having a private acceptance of “Jesus as my personal Lord and savior.” Not being “spiritual but not religious.”

If that’s how you are trying to grow as a Christian I can bet you’re struggling because you’re doing it wrong.

When you keep your faith to yourself you remain a stranger to your neighbor, but we…

 are no longer strangers and sojourners,…”

No. We…

are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God.”

Stop being a stranger. Become a fellow citizen. Join the household of God and build it up by building up your neighbor, which is the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
