Walk Towards Imprisonment and Hardship
From today’s reading…
What will happen to me there I do not know,
except that in one city after another
the Holy Spirit has been warning me
that imprisonment and hardships await me.”
Why does someone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior encounter jail, difficulties, and death?
Why are the earliest Church leaders both spiritual and religious?
Why are the earliest Church leaders so focused on building communities of believers?
Notice how the earliest Church leaders exemplify leadership in delivering straight talk to their people: “…and I did not at all shrink from telling you what was for your benefit,….”
When you speak the Truth you will create haters who want to kill your voice, your message, and even kill you.
Are you willing to lay down your life for the Truth?
Start today by Retweeting that pro-life advocate’s message or that priest or bishop who is being excoriated for proclaiming the Gospel during this Pride month.
“But Wes, I don’t want to get involved in anything political or faith-based online as it might impact my work.”
I understand. Then please delete these posts you shared in the past:
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
I mean, you do want to be congruent and consistent and honest, right?
That will help you in business, right?
Go ahead and delete those.
And be sure to never share them again.
Then go back to your abortion-loving Netflix series…your children-sexualizing Disney movies…and hope that the knock on the door is a good guy—who’s been called a bad guy—with a gun (that’s been called evil and banned) who has come to defend your life, instead of a bad guy—who’s been called a good guy—from the government (that’s been called good and expanded) who has come to take you and your family and do with you as they wish.
I pray that you join me so I’m not alone as I choose to…
Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
