When you compare your fair hair to Cher, And your lips to Taylor Swift…When you compare your car that won’t go To all of Jay Leno’s,…When you compare your life as a non-explorer, With the cartoon girl, Dora…When your complexion gives you fits, And you’re jealous of Brat Pitt…It’s easy to get down on yourself With few awards on your shelf.
But is the ear jealous of the hand That plays the drums in the band, But only knows what to play Because the ears hear the way?
Or is the eye jealous of the foot That kicks the winning score, But the win they can only claim, Because the eye knew where to aim?
So welcome to the body, Together we are one. Which is how they made it, Holy Spirit, Father, Son.
Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
