The Spirit Aids Your Weakness

From today’s reading…

Brothers and sisters:

The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness;

for we do not know how to pray as we ought,

but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.”

The good news the Spirit is ready, willing, and able to help us.

The bad news is we’re too arrogant, ignorant, or ashamed to ask for and receive His help.

The devil fills you with pride and sloth to keep you from getting the help you need to defeat him.

The devil wants you to think you’re strong enough to face him and go toe-to-toe.

The devil wants you to think he doesn’t exist.

The devil does not want you to put down your smart phone, step away from your computer, turn off the TV, get on your knees and pray.

He wants you tired, distracted, and hyped up on sex, drugs, rock & roll.

Be silent so you can hear the groanings of the Spirit who has been sent to help you…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
