By speaking of a new covenant, he implies that the first one is old. And anything old and ageing is ready to disappear.” Hebrews 8:13

So what exactly is old and aging and disappearing? The entire Old Testament, or the old covenant?

Words mean things, and God means what He says and He puts His money—and His Son—where His mouth is.

We can’t break this new covenant so badly that God will “abandon” us (v9). Just…
