The Lord Has Forsaken You?

From today’s reading…

Can a mother forget her infant,

be without tenderness for the child of her womb?

Even should she forget,

I will never forget you.”

In chapter 49 today, Isaiah relays the comforting words of God to the people of Zion who felt forsaken and forgotten.

You are never forsaken or forgotten.

He frees prisoners. Gives us pastures, food, and water. He shades us from the “scorching sun,” and makes the “highways level.”

But we must still sow and harvest. Eat and drink from the abundance He gives us. And put one foot in front of the other along that highway as we… 

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
