The Kingdom Has Been Made Firm

From today’s reading…

“The LORD spoke to Nathan and said:

‘Go, tell my servant David,

“When your time comes and you rest with your ancestors,

I will raise up your heir after you, sprung from your loins,

and I will make his kingdom firm…”’”

Today we celebrate St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, i.e. the foster father of our salvation.

As a child, when Jesus was learning what it meant to be a man and a father, He was given Joseph as His role model.

So the King of Salvation descended from the lineage of King David and was given the King of Foster Dads as His earthly provider, protector, teacher, and father.

And you and I are descendants of Jesus and knowing that and living in accordance with the heritage and duty of our kingdom is the only way to…
