The Family Meal Is Where You Heal

From today’s reading…

…that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, ‘This is my Body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.'”

Paul had to put on his “And-what-do-we-have-here?” hat in his letter to the Corinthians today.

He had to remind them how to act around the table, which is probably the most important place in the home.

When do you know the relationship is serious? When you’re invited over for Sunday dinner.

Meals are more than an occasion to provide nourishment to your body.

It’s a time to provide nourishment to your soul.

It’s a time to be reminded you’re not alone.

It’s a time to be reminded to straighten up and act right.

It’s a time to be reminded where you come from.

It’s a time to discuss plans for the upcoming week so you are prepared.

It’s a time to give thanks.

It’s a time for hugs and kisses

It’s a time for deep discussions.

It’s a time to check in on one another and to encourage one another to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
