The Blow That Will Not Heal

Why have you struck us a blow

that cannot be healed?

We wait for peace, to no avail;

for a time of healing, but terror comes instead.” Jeremiah 14:19

I know what you’re thinking. You think Jeremiah was writing poetically, not literally. You think Judah and Zion are ancient history. You think they deserved what they got. You think we are smarter than them. Better than them. You think “this time is different.” You think you are unique. Special. Innocent. You think since God told Noah that He would never flood the earth again that we’re all good to go. You think you’re saved once and for all. You think you can’t do anything to screw things up. You think you can’t make things any worse than they already are.

You’re not thinking.

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
