Take a Drink

From today’s reading…

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body,

whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons,

and we were all given to drink of one Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:13

God is gracious and generous.

He’s so gracious and generous He even calls Alabama fans, squids, grunts, and jarheads into His one body.

He gives us all the cup from which to gulp and chugalug His Spirit. (But He lets the Air Force go first because those leathernecks tend to make a mess and someone has to hold the silly straws for the grunts.)

None of us are better or worse than the other. (Yes, even Alabama fans are equal to LSU fans in God’s eye.)

But we do have to answer His call.

We do have to reach out for the cup. We do have to drink heartily, with courage, hope, and confidence.

And the only way to do that is to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
