She Did Not Recognize Jesus

As she said this she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, though she did not realise that it was Jesus.” John 20:14

My dad always says if you think you’re desperate, you are.

Mary Magdala knew Jesus. She wiped His feet with her tears and dried His feet with her hair and anointed His feet with oil (Luke 7:37-38).

She was a close disciple of His for at least a year.

She heard His teachings, His parables, His instructions.

She was at the foot of the cross when He took His last breath.

Yet she did not fully understand (believe?) what He was saying, so much so that she allowed a combination of fear, anxiety, worry, and desperation to blind her to her Savior.

Today, take a step back.

Take a breath.

Take a moment to recognize Jesus in your life.

He’s never left your side.

He’s right in front of you in your darkest moment.

He did what He had to do so you will have the courage, the faith, and the ability to…

Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.

Now go sell something.
