Sawed In Two Might Be Your Prize

From today’s reading…

Others endured mockery, scourging, even chains and imprisonment.

They were stoned, sawed in two, put to death at sword’s point;

they went about in skins of sheep or goats,

needy, afflicted, tormented.

The world was not worthy of them.”

That’s from Paul’s letter to the Hebrews in chapter 11 today. He was reminding his readers what their great ancestors and prophets endured.

It wasn’t all just “cool and nifty tricks” like

…they closed the mouths of lions, put out raging fires, escaped the devouring sword;”

So along with their successes they lived through great trials and tribulations to further God’s message and to help bring about His will.
