You just gotta love you some outspoken Peter on Pentecost. (And jumping out of the boat to swim to shore to see Jesus…and giving the whole walking on water thing a shot…and cutting off the servant’s ear in the Garden of Gethsemane…and seeking forgiveness after that major show of weakness before the cock crowed.)
With the gift of the Holy Spirit Peter was more motivated than ever to do what was right, even if it made him unpopular.
But speaking the truth made him popular, at least with those who were earnestly seeking the truth.
Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Every generation is corrupt, yet the same Holy Spirit that encouraged Peter remains ever-present to strengthen you as you choose to…
Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
