From today’s reading…
Thus says the Lord GOD:
If the wicked man turns away from all the sins he committed,
if he keeps all my statutes and does what is right and just,
he shall surely live, he shall not die.”
Ezekiel has good news and bad news for us today.
The good news is it’s never too late to do what’s right.
The bad news is there’s still plenty of time to do what’s wrong.
In track they tell racers to run through the finish line.
In football they tell ball-carriers to run through the back of the end zone with the ball securely in your hands to eliminate any doubt that you scored a touchdown.
You can be virtuous most of your life, but if later you do what the wicked do…
None of his virtuous deeds shall be remembered,…”
So run through the finish line, through the back of the end zone, and always…
Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
