From today’s reading…

Rise up in splendor, Jerusalem! Your light has come,

the glory of the Lord shines upon you….

Caravans of camels shall fill you,

dromedaries from Midian and Ephah;

all from Sheba shall come

bearing gold and frankincense,

and proclaiming the praises of the LORD.”

More than 750 years before Matthew told of the story of the birth of Jesus, the treachery of Herod, and the dreams of the magi who came to pay homage to the infant Jesus Isaiah wrote these words.

You have the glory of the Lord and His light has been given so you may more easily…
