Remain In His Teaching

From today’s reading…

If anybody does not remain in the teaching of Christ but goes beyond it, he does not have God with him: only those who remain in what he taught can have the Father and the Son with them.” 2 John 1:9

Did Christ teach that abortion or gay marriage or government dictators closing churches was acceptable? What did He say about greedy government officials who lined their own pockets and created comfortable lives for themselves off the backs of the people under their dominion?

Did Jesus teach that “drag queen story hour” was a good thing or that parents should abdicate their responsibilities to educate, teach, and nurture their children to the same soulless, nameless, monolithic government?

Did Jesus teach you don’t have to donate your time, talent, and treasure to the Church because there’s a government entity that redistributes your tax dollars to the poor?

Did Jesus teach that streaming a church service on your iPhone while doing your yoga routine or the dishes is a valid substitute for attending in person as a community and receiving His body and blood?

Don’t worry about the fat, dumb, and happy around you. Jesus reminds us in Luke 17 today that in both the time of Noah and of Lot people were that way right up until the flood and the fire and brimstone came from heaven and destroyed them all.

You do you. Lead by example….

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
