Produce Perfect Perseverance

From today’s reading…

And let perseverance be perfect,

so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:4

James is writing “to the twelve tribes in the dispersion.”

Jesus is not some prophet that lived 1,000 years ago. He was walking among them maybe 20 years before James penned this letter so they have firsthand knowledge of Jesus, what He persevered for them, and His message of love, hope, and heaven.

Paul is not asking James and members of his congregation to do something he’s not doing and that Jesus did not do.

And he’s not promising them a rose garden or a leisurely stroll to paradise.

No, he’s reminding them that they have been called to greatness, which is only achieved through struggle, effort, and perseverance.

In other words, he’s telling them to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
