Present Your Family To The Lord

From today’s reading…

The Son of God was both spiritual and religious, which is why you need to get your rear in gear and get to church each weekend and bring your kids.

This week we’ve seen kids and adults, celebrities and athletes, all wearing #8 and #24, and shooting wads of paper into trash cans yelling “Kobe!” to honor and remember Kobe Bryant.

If you read the social media bios of many of those same people they’ll list things like “follower” or “believer” or “Jesus first” or they’ll list a scripture verse.

Then they’ll say “I don’t go to any church services. I’m spiritual but not religious.”

Or they’ll say “I don’t believe in organized religion.”

Or maybe “There are too many hypocrites at the church I used to attend so I don’t go anymore.”

Or “God knows my heart. I pray to him and just try to do the right thing.”

Honoring the king of hoops is fine. He touched a lot of lives in his short life.

But if you feel better, happier, more fulfilled, and better-connected to an athlete by dressing like him and emulating his actions, how much better, happier, and fulfilled will your life be if you emulate the Son of God by attending church today and bringing your entire family?
