From today’s reading…
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
before you came to birth I consecrated you;
I appointed you as prophet to the nations….
As for you, prepare yourself for action.
Stand up and tell them all I command you.
Have no fear of them and in their presence I will make you fearless.”
Jeremiah reminds us that we are not called to a hunkered-down, sheltered existence where we build a “personal and private” relationship with the Lord.
You and I are called to confront evil and do battle with it always and everywhere.
They will fight against you but not prevail over you.”
Knowing that you have “a fortified city, a pillar of iron, a wall of brass, against the whole land:”, you can confidently and effectively…
Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
