Pray Fervently For Peter…and the Church

From today’s reading…

He had James, the brother of John, killed by the sword,

and when he saw that this was pleasing to the Jews

he proceeded to arrest Peter also.”

King Herod was not happy with members of the new Church so he persecuted, imprisoned, and executed many of them.

But not before God could make His power and presence known, thereby emboldening the members of the Church despite their trials and tribulations.

Those members prayed “fervently” for Peter, and God answered their prayers by freeing him.

We need to emulate those early Church members and pray fervently for one another during these trying times because it’s the only way to…
