One Only Is Wise

From today’s reading…

One only is wise, terrible indeed, seated on his throne, the Lord. It was he who created, inspected and weighed her (wisdom) up, and then poured her out on all his works- as much to each living creature as he chose — bestowing her on those who love him.” Sirach 1:8-10

Sirach was written around 200 B.C., which means the stories, parables, and lessons it teaches had been spoken and passed on for probably 1,000 years or more.

Consider for a moment what it takes for a story/lesson to survive for thousands of years.

Neither domination nor threat nor coercion can force mankind to remember, share, and preserve something like this for millennia.

It takes wisdom to see the wisdom in the Bible.

It takes wisdom to know and to fear the source of that wisdom because you know He is the source of all wisdom.

Having that wisdom is the only way to…

Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.
