No Ashes. Only Diadems.

He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly,…

To place on those who mourn in Zion

a diadem instead of ashes,

To give them oil of gladness in place of mourning,…”

This week the roof of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris burned. Out of the ashes—actually, before the ashes could descend and cover it—the crown of thorns, i.e. the diadem, of Jesus was saved.

When the smoke cleared our mourning was replaced with gladness as the world learned that our worst fears did not come to pass.

The altar stood.The cross stood.The cathedral stood.

Accept the glad tidings that have been brought to you.

Allow your broken heart to heal.

That way you can also bring glad tidings to those around you and participate in the healing of hearts, which is the only way to…
