My Lord and My God!

From today’s reading…

Thomas answered and said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’” John 20:28

Thomas gets a bad wrap. We call him “doubting Thomas” because he wasn’t in the upper room when Jesus first appeared to the disciples but he is the first to proclaim Jesus as his Lord and God.

In Luke 24 we see the disciples “startled and terrified and thought they were seeing a ghost.” Luke 24:37 Then Jesus offered His hands and feet for inspection, for them to touch and see, just as Thomas wanted to do.

But did anyone in Luke proclaim Jesus as their Lord and God as Thomas did? Things are not always as they appear. Dig deeper. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt while demanding more of yourself, which is the only way to…
