From today’s reading…

Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit,

looked up intently to heaven and saw the glory of God

and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,

and Stephen said, ‘Behold, I see the heavens opened

and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.’”

The crowds, with the support of “a young man named Saul,” stoned Stephen to death for the witness he bore to the Trinity.

Today, politicians who want their countries to be independent get milkshakes thrown at them.

Today, citizens who want legal immigration get glass bottles thrown at them.

Today, states who vote to protect the unborn get boycotts thrown at them.

Today, states who vote to protect girls using the restroom and locker rooms get travel bans thrown at them.

And all of the above happens with the support of government officials, executives at major corporations, and influential celebrities.

Good.

Now we know where the lines are drawn.

We have identified the enemy.

And we have a game plan that has been proven to win over 2,000 years.

All we must do now is hold our heads high, keep our vision clear, and…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
