Lead Them, Too

From today’s reading…

And there are other sheep I have that are not of this fold, and I must lead these too. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be only one flock, one shepherd.” John 10:16

When I do a search for “church 92563,” Google Maps shows me 20 results, with only two of them being Catholic churches. So much for “one flock, one shepherd.”

While it’s good if your church is good, and your pastor makes you feel good, and the music is good, and everyone who attends is good at helping out, and it’s an overall good community.

But you weren’t made to just settle into a nice place with a preacher man that said nice things that made you feel nice.

You were made to be uncomfortable leading and protecting your flock.

You were made to speak up.

To guide. To nurture. To sacrifice. Even die if necessary to protect those entrusted to you.

It’s what the One Shepherd did for you, and all He wants is for you to follow in His footsteps, which is the only way to…

Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.

Now go sell something.
