Cephas—Aramaic for Rock, a.k.a. Peter—was the leader of the Church, so opposing him to his face was no small event, which is why Paul mentions it twice in detail in today’s letter to the Galatians.

Cephas was human just like you and me. Just like your boss, your spouse, your priest, your bishop, your mayor, governor, and president.

We are not infallible so we must be open to correction and must remain in a state of grace so as to correct others with moral authority on our side.
