Parents don’t want their kids to touch a hot stove, run with scissors, or drink and drive.

We tell them repeatedly. We swat their hands and their bottoms.

We physically pick them up to save them from hurting themselves.

We yell at them, put them in timeout, ground them, take away their phones, take away their car keys,…and they are safe…for a moment.

But we are a stiff-necked people.

We must be told time and time again what to do and what not to do because we either don’t listen or we don’t want to listen.

Fortunately, our God is a patient, loving Father. He has given us advice and sent reminders since the Garden of Eden and He continues to do so because our salvation depends on our ability to…
