Jesus Had To Go Where We Could Not
From today’s reading…
Little children, I shall be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and, as I told the Jews, where I am going, you cannot come.”
Schools have a teacher’s lounge.
The military has separate housing for officers.
Corporate executives have regular planning meetings off-site.
This not only gives the teachers, officers, and executives time to let their hair down, vent, and plan, but it also gives those under their charge a chance to figure things out on their own and step into their own potential.
Jesus, being the greatest of Fathers while having the greatest of Fathers, knows that helicopter parenting is terrible for both the parents and the children.
Kids must be allowed to run and trip and skin their knees and be comforted by loving parents who are never too far away to help, who also send us back out to ride, skate, jump, and run some more so we can grow in strength, stamina, and courage.
To not be God means to have limitations.
To have limitations means to suffer.
To explore and face our dragons and defeat them is to reduce our limitations, thereby reducing our suffering, and the suffering of those around us.
So take joy in the fact that Jesus is not a helicopter parent.
He wants you to grow strong and work with Him to help others grow strong, so we can all…
Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.
Now go sell something.
