Insult Has Broken My Heart

From today’s reading…

Insult has broken my heart, and I am weak,

I looked for sympathy, but there was none;

for consolers, not one could I find.

Rather they put gall in my food,

and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.” Psalm 69:21-22

In two days we’ll celebrate Good Friday.

How crazy is it that we call the day of condemnation, ridicule, arrest, confinement, torture, and execution of our Lord “good?”

But it is Good News for you and me who fall short of the glory of God.

It is Good News for you and me who have been insulted, ignored, mocked, and left for dead like the writer of today’s Psalm.

Jesus knows how you feel. Literally.

He knows that we’ve all mistreated one another and been mistreated since Adam and Eve.

Which is why Friday is Good.

Sin and death entered the world through a man.

Rescue from sin and death entered the world through a man.

Everything you endure in His name will be worth as long as you…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
