I Give My Flesh As Bread

From today’s reading…

I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.” John 6:51

The Jews knew the importance, the relevance, and the significance of bread and eating the sacrificial flesh. The bread kept their ancestors alive during their escape from captivity in the barren lands, and it kept them alive in the present day, and so did their ritual sacrifices.

Now they hear a man, a carpenter, their neighbor say that He is all of the above and more. Would you have believed Him then? Do you believe Him now? For your sake, I hope you do, because that’s the only way to…
