From today’s reading…

…and we today are flushed with shame,

we men…and citizens…, with our kings and rulers

and priests and prophets, and with our ancestors,

have sinned in the Lord’s sight and disobeyed him.”

Think an entire nation—an entire generation—can’t do wrong?

Then you’re not paying attention.

Probably because you’re too deep in your own disobedience, your own disregard of His voice, your own devices of your own wicked heart, too deep into serving other gods, and doing evil in His sight.

You might be tempted to call Baruch a party pooper.

That would be proof that his message is still on point 2,200 years later.

By not hardening your heart when you hear His voice today is the only way to…
