How To Be Put Out of His Sight

They rejected his statutes,

Good parents don’t just throw their kids out of the house when they’re five just for eating ice cream on the couch. Good parents love, nurture, and discipline their kids appropriately and when they come of age, if they continue acting not only inappropriately, but willfully and intentionally inappropriately, then a good parent drops the hammer.

Yes, tough love is a real thing and over and over again we see God serve it up for the Israelites who seem to forget the lessons.
