Hot Stoves Always Burn

From today’s reading…

‘Forsake foolishness that you may live; advance in the way of understanding.’”

If you put your hand on a hot stove at any age it’s foolish, but if you do it when you’re 20 or 40 or 60, you haven’t advanced in the way of understanding, which makes you a fool.

A two-year old child doesn’t know any better, but you and I are not static beings.

We have the capacity to seek, to learn, and to grow.

We also have an obligation to do so.

God doesn’t put breath into our lungs so we can be debaucherously sloths.

You and I have been created and called to grow in wisdom, not for wisdom’s sake, not that we might boast, but to know how to love more completely, and in doing so, lead others to God, which can only be done if you and I…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
