He Will Come Back

From today’s reading…

They were still staring into the sky as he went, when suddenly two men in white were standing beside them, and they said, ‘Why are you Galileans standing here looking into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him go to heaven.’” Acts 1:10-11

I can’t help but think this is God’s way of saying, “Stop wishing. Stop dreaming. Stop worrying. Stop hoping. Stop crying. Put aside the nostalgia and the reminiscing. There is work to be done. Commence with your calling. Those seeds won’t plant themselves. Those weights won’t lift themselves. Those dishes won’t wash themselves. Those lost sheep won’t magically find their way home.”

Then He throws in a little, “I’ll be back.”

Stop standing around and get to work. It’s the only way to…

Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.

Now go sell something.
