He Whose Hands Are Sinless

From today’s reading…

Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD?

or who may stand in his holy place?

He whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean,

who desires not what is vain.”

Psalms 24 makes it frighteningly clear that you and I are not worthy. We are not sinless. Our hearts are not clean. We desire what is vain. So we are doomed…unless…

Unless a perfect offering is to be made for us.

Unless a sinless, clean, humble one comes to atone for our sins.

Unless one strong enough to climb the mountain while shouldering our heavy loads is sent, as a gift, and takes on this burden of his own free will.

Well, Merry Christmas. In five days we celebrate the arrival of that perfect someone.

Then we celebrate His birthday for 12 days as we transition from darkness to light because only with a bright light guiding our way are we assured the ability to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
