He Left Because He Loves Us

From today’s reading…

Still, I am telling you the truth: it is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” John 16:7

Two days and two chapters in a row, we read about Jesus sending us the Paraclete.

He knows what we need better than we do. In the same way, a loving bird shoves her babies out of the nest to force them to spread their wings and fly, Jesus steps aside and allows the Paraclete to spread His wings to help us fly.

If you understand why Obi-Wan both had to die and became stronger in death, then you know why Jesus had to do what He described today.
