He Knew His Hour Had Come

From today’s reading…

Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come

to pass from this world to the Father.

He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end.” John 13:1

On Dec 19, 1998, Nick Williams hit the slopes at Squaw Valley in California for a couple of hours of fun.

It was a nice day so he wore a Dallas Cowboys jacket and little other gear that would help him survive two nights on the mountain in a blizzard with temperatures between minus 19 and minus 50 degrees.

He even stepped through ice into a creek that froze his feet just to add insult to injury.

But he had a son waiting for him at home and the love he had for his young son and wife was enough to see him through his ordeal.

That bond between father and son is powerful.

Now multiply that by the universe and you’ll start to understand the love between The Father and The Son. Between The Bridegroom and The Bride, His Church, which is comprised of you and me, with Jesus as the head.

Jesus knew what was in store for Him tomorrow. He took it on willingly, never wavering, always leading by example so we would always know exactly how to…
