He Is In Our Midst

From today’s reading…

The LORD has removed the judgment against you

he has turned away your enemies;

the King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst,

you have no further misfortune to fear.”

There are only three chapters in Zephaniah and he spends most of his time warning about the punishment that is in store for Judah and Jerusalem because of their worshipping of other gods. (That applies to you and me, by the way, but today it’s Victoria’s Secret and fast cars and big homes and bigger watches and $1,000 purses and singers and athletes. We really haven’t progressed much at all, have we?)

But he’s not all Bah Humbug.
