He Did Not Spare His Own Son

From today’s reading…

Much of the focus of the Gospels and the New Testament is on Jesus because of His selfless sacrifice for us, and rightly so.

He willingly endured a horrible death for our sins.

But if you are a parent, take a moment to think what it would take for you to willingly hand over your child for any unjust punishment, let alone torture, crucifixion, and death.

As the father of seven, I can tell you I would rather die seven times than to see my children be injured, suffering, and/or killed.

Is what God did a bigger sacrifice than what Jesus did?

I’m not qualified to answer that question, but I know as a father, I’d rather lay down my life for my children than be asked to hand them over.

God knows what you need and is willing to hold nothing back, not even His Son, to help you…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
