Have a Plan Like Tank Man

From today’s reading…

He shall stand firm and shepherd his flock by the strength of the LORD, in the majestic name of the LORD, his God; And they shall remain, for now his greatness shall reach to the ends of the earth; he shall be peace.”

June 5, 1989, the morning after the Chinese military suppressed the Tiananmen Square protests by force, “Tank Man” stood firm in front of four tanks.

To this day his real name is unknown but his greatness reached the end of the earth because of his actions in the name of peace and freedom.

It’s wise to remain in the presence of greatness because it’s so rare and hard to find.

People crave leadership, greatness, and peace.

Our lives are so busy, noisy, chaotic—even a living hell.

This is the case for more people than we care to admit because it makes us uncomfortable.

Sure, most of us play it off and hide it well but you see signs of it everywhere in the form of:

  • drug and alcohol abuse

  • sex crimes

  • failed marriages

  • suicides

  • homicides

  • obesity

  • financial issues

  • riots and protests

…and that’s the short list.

Your family needs you to be Tank Man.

Your kid’s school needs you to be Tank Man.

Your company needs you to be Tank Man.

Your church needs you to be Tank Man.

Your city needs you to be Tank Man.

To be Tank Man you must find inner peace.

To find lasting peace, the source of your peace must be unmoving, like Polaris for early sailors.

When you focus on He who stands firm, it’s easy to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
