Haters Gonna Flee

From today’s reading…

God arises; his enemies are scattered,

and those who hate him flee before him.

As smoke is driven away, so are they driven;

as wax melts before the fire.” Psalm 68:2-3

Think of the word hate.

Consider how draining it is.

When you do you’ll recognize the truth in the saying that holding onto hatred is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.

The Israelites of the Old Testament knew it. Buddha knew it. Mandela knew it.

Booker T. Washington said “I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.”

It’s why love wins in the end because love is good because God is love. Hating takes too much out of us. It drives us apart. It narrows and degrades our souls, which is why loving is the only way to…
