Go Off To a Deserted Place

From today’s reading…

But the news of him kept spreading, and large crowds would gather to hear him and to have their illnesses cured, but he would go off to some deserted place and pray.” Luke 5:15-16

Jesus has been putting on his oxygen mask first before it was even a thing.

People are sheep.

They are sheep drowning in just knee-high water.

This makes them desperate and needy and in need of guidance, instruction, leadership, love, and prayer, which you can only provide if you are strong, healthy, vibrant, and wise in your own right.

That takes time. That takes discipline. That takes solitude.

Jesus is fresh off His 40-day retreat, yet still needs frequent respites from the chaos of life.

So do you.

So take a lengthy prayer break. It’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
