From today’s reading…

She was able to eat for a year, and Elijah and her son as well;

the jar of flour did not go empty,

nor the jug of oil run dry,

as the LORD had foretold through Elijah.” 1 Kings 17:15-16

The widow who thought she only had enough food for a day…The widow who thought she and her son would soon die of starvation…The widow who placed her faith in Elijah who shared the Word of God…Was rewarded with 1,642.5 times more nourishment than she thought she had. (That’s three meals a day for three people for a year versus one meal for two people one time.)

That’s the power of God. He’ll give you 100 or 1,000 or 10,000 or a million times more than what you thought was possible if you’ll only

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
