Focus. Study. Practice.

From today’s reading…

The concern of the flesh is death,

but the concern of the spirit is life and peace.”

If your life seems empty, unfulfilled, and chaotic check the state of your spirit.

Years ago when I was first learning golf, I was taught the concept of form follows function. The idea is simple enough. The function—or dis-function—of my golf swing creates the form or shape of the ball flight.

My golf pro taught me to remain calm after a mishit and analyze my body’s function. Was I off-balance? Was I finishing too high or too low? Were my hands hurting and forming hot spots or even blisters?

If I was off-balance, was I falling forward or backward? What was the shape of the divot? Was there a divot?

Each of those data points gave me insight into how to fix my swing…that is, IF I both paid attention to my swing and studied ahead of time how to correct what’s wrong.

To reach your goals you must focus, study, and practice.

What are you practicing in your life? What are you studying? Where’s your focus? If any of those functions are off, the form/shape of your life is off as well.

It’s telling to read the commentary the pretty people add to the pictures they post online highlighting the form of their physical bodies.

Many are sad, rebellious, even vindictive. They talk of lost loves, obstacles, and even abuse. If I was a betting man I’d say many have spirits that are not as healthy and vibrant as their biceps and quads.

Having a healthy, strong, attractive body is wonderful, but it is fleeting and temporary. Put more focus on the health of your spirit and I guarantee it’ll be easier for you to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
