The man went and told the Jews

that Jesus was the one who had made him well.

Therefore, the Jews began to persecute Jesus

because he did this on a sabbath.” John 5:15-16

Since Cain killed his brother Abel, mankind has been jealous of one another and has looked for any and all reasons to critique, criticize, and/or minimize the work of those whose success, for whatever reason, we see as a threat to us.

Politicians are the worst, but politics are in everything. You see it at the HOA and the PTA meetings. You see it in Little League and MLB. You see it inside companies, especially among salespeople, who can be quite spiteful of a colleague’s success.

And unfortunately, you even see it in your congregation.

Jesus knew what He had to do. He knew the risks. He also knew the rewards—which were for you and me, not Him—so He said what He needed to be said and He did what needed to be done.

The Truth kept Him free as He showed us how to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
