Eagerly Await Your Inheritance

From today’s reading…

…those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.”

That is why the One made the ultimate sacrifice. He wants you with Him for all eternity.

He entered…

…heaven itself, that he might now appear before God on our behalf.”

And he…

…will appear again a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him.”

It’s hard to remain eager when life is a jumbled mess.

It’s bad enough that our world is rocked daily by wars, terrorist attacks, droughts, and famines. We’re also barraged with political acrimony, cyber bullying, and problems at work.

Then there’s issues at home with the kids, the in-laws, the spouse, the dog is sick, and the roof has a leak.

I won’t even mention the sudden weight gain, the sleepless nights, and nagging cold that never seems to go away.

Jesus knows those struggles because He walked among us as one of us for decades.

He healed the sick, comforted the imprisoned, and counseled the sinners.

And He’s calling us to do the same.

To forget ourselves.

Because when we place the needs of others ahead of our own, it’s easier to remain eager, which is the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
